Our passion for the arts runs deep... it’s at the heart of everything we do. At Arts Ireland, we believe that creativity should be part of everyday life as it is a powerful tool for personal growth.

Through making, imagining and exploring, people build confidence, strengthen critical-thinking-, problem-solving skills, and open the door to innovation.

Art helps us understand ourselves and others, fostering empathy and connection. We champion the arts not just for their beauty, but for their ability to shape stronger people, stronger communities, and a stronger Ireland.

Artists and creatives across Ireland are telling us the same thing: affordable studio space is getting harder to find.

Spaces to make, experiment, store work, rehearse, collaborate, and simply show up regularly to your practice are essential, yet often out of reach.

At Arts Ireland, we’re actively exploring ways to support access to studio and making spaces. We’re especially interested in ideas that come from artists themselves.

Do you have experience with shared studio spaces that work well?
Are you renting from another artist, collective, or organisation?
Have you seen creative solutions we should learn from?
Are you an artist with extra space who might consider sharing or renting it out?

Celebrating a Creative Milestone with SDCC ✨️

We’re delighted to share the success of the YofA Adult Workshops delivered as part of Firstival in collaboration with South Dublin Libraries.

These workshops welcomed adults back into creative spaces - some for the first time in years - offering time, permission, and support to explore art in a relaxed, encouraging environment.

What we saw:
• Curiosity over perfection;
• Connection over comparison;
• Creativity supporting wellbeing;
• Powerful conversations sparked through making.

Participants explored materials freely, followed their own creative instincts, and rediscovered confidence through process-led artmaking... exactly what Year of Arts (YofA) is all about.

A huge thank you to South Dublin Libraries for championing adult creativity and making space for meaningful, accessible arts experiences within our communities.

A strong portfolio is not about perfect work... it’s about how you think, explore, experiment, and grow as an artist.

Our new Art Portfolio Building Course is a guided, step-by-step programme designed to help you develop a stand-out portfolio that clearly communicates your creative voice.
